March! Tuesday, May 8th, 12:30, Sproul Plaza
Join other concerned citizens for a march around Berkeley. Let
the administration know we're still concerned, and that
we're not going away. Assemble 12:30-1pm on Sproul Plaza, near
Bancroft and Telegraph; march at 1pm.
We are proud to present two public forums on biofuels and the
proposed UCB-BP deal:
Biofuels: a conversation between
science, engineering, ecology, politics and urban design

for the public university

The Hillside Club, 2286 Cedar St., Berkeley
Webcast of this event now available:

Part 2
Wednesday, April 25
The ASUC (the university's student government) passes a
resolution
strongly critical of the proposed BP deal and calling for the deal to
be postponed until an external review is conducted.
Thursday, April 19, 1 - 3 PM, Booth Auditorium, Boalt Hall
Special meeting of the Berkeley Academic Senate on the proposed
deal. The Senate did not pass a
motion
calling for faculty review of the BP proposal, and passed instead the
motion favored by the administration, which somehow equates "academic
freedom" with free reign to take research money from absolutely anyone
without being questioned.
(A partial
audio recording of this meeting has been posted on Indybay.org.)
Thursday, April 19, 12:30 PM
Presentation of
The Chancellor's New Job, a brief theatrical
performance, just before the academic senate meeting.
(a
little video on this TV clip...)
All week, April 16 - 20, midday
tabling in Sproul Plaza, amidst the
Earthweek
observance.
